Stoke City fans have sent a mixed verdict to boss Michael ONeill after being linked with a move for Aden Flint.
The Potters are reportedly lining up a last gap bid for Cardiff City centre back Flint in a move that would snatch him away from League One side Derby County.
The experienced defender is on the search for a new club after announcing his departure from the Bluebirds this summer, ending a three-year association in the Welsh capital. The 32-year-old has plenty of Football League experience after playing for Swindon Town, Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City.

According tojournalist Alan Nixonthe Pottersare making a last gap bid to snatch the former England C international from Wayne Rooneys plans.Michael ONeilis keen to replace Taylor Harwood-Bellis after the defender returned to Manchester City at the end of the season.
Flint has been discussing a deal with Derby about joining the League One side and the Rams are just awaiting confirmation of Chris Kirchners takeover of the club to confirm any incomings. The Pride Park outfit are willing to take him on with the best terms they will be able to, according to Nixon.
However, with Stoke retaining their Championship status last season, Flint could be tempted into a move to Stoke over Derby due to the cash offered from the Bet365 Stadium outfit.
ONeil is on the market to replacefour senior squad membersafter it was confirmed Tommy Smith, Tom Ince, James Chester and Steven Fletcher will all leave the club on a free transfer. Centre-back is a priority for Stoke, with Liam Moore and Leo Östigard joining Harwood-Bellis in departing the club at the end of their loan spells.
This is what some Potters fans said on social media about the rumour...
@ftblHarv:I feel like Im the only one who likes this transfer, Ik the age aint good but hes very good, air dominant defender
@SCFCJosh_:i hate this club sometimes
@mtgallimore:Its the competing with Derby bit that concerns me.
@SteveSCFC:With Stoke being linked to [Tomas] Kalas and Flint in the last few days, does it point to Taylor and Forrester being sent out on loan?
@dannowell1:Imagine a back 3 of Souttar, Flint and Taylor
@Will_Meigh:Of course we are. Just what we need.
